Demonstrates the principle of platinum resistance thermometry and its application in precise
temperature measurements using a bridge method such as ‘Cary-Foster’ bridge.
It comprises a length of fine platinum wire wound non-inductively on a mica frame and
soldered to copper leads.
Also provided with a pair of compensating leads, with all the four wires terminating in 4mm
terminals at the top.
Complete assembly enclosed in a borosilicate tube sealed at the top.
Since the connections are soft soldered, the resistance thermometer is suitable for low
temperature work up to 150°C.
