Flakiness Gauge

It may be defined as the flakiness gauge of aggregates is the percentages by weight of particles whose least dimension is less than three fifths (0.6) of their mean dimension the test is not applicable to sizes smaller than 6.3 mm the apparatus consists of a stand and thickness gauge of sieve sizes 63,50,40,31.5,25,20,16,12.5,10 or 6.3 mm and a balance to weight the samples.

Technical Specification:-

Consists of a hard wood base with vertically mounted metal studs
In bituminous mixtures, flaky aggregates make for a harsh mix and may also crack and break up during compacting by rolling.
The flakiness of aggregate is determined by measuring the thickness of individual particles.
Hence we offer thickness gauge and length gauge to check flakiness of the aggregate respectively
