Product Description

Specification:

  • The unit is capable of running both air and water as the flow medium. With the provision of two columns, different fluidized bed behavior is compared simultaneously.
  • The unit is also be capable of demonstrating basic characteristics such as bed expansion, pressure drop, aggregative and particulate fluidization, and the bubbling phenomenon.
  • Instrumentations is provided for the complete measurements of flow rate and pressure.
  • Two acrylic cylindrical columns mounted on the back panel is filled with a bed of a chosen solid particles.
  • At the lower end, the cylinders have a bed support for the fixed bed, or to hold the solid particles when it is defluidised.
  • Wall tappings is provided on the columns to facilitate pressure drop measurements.
  • Separate manometers are installed to allow the pressure drop in both columns to be measured simultaneously.
  • The unit is equipped with sump tank with suitable pump, control valve, variable area flow meter, air pump and air discharge outlet.
  • The unit is designed such that the bed material can be easily changed.
  • Arrangements for feeding different types of solid particles needs is supplied so that a wide range of experiments is carried out on a fixed or fluidized bed.
